How is knowledge created?
At their wedding Akan-women get a saying-tree from their mother. It represents the life cycle of a woman. The saying-tree has different objects attached. Each object stands for a saying. In my work I refer to the „Sprichwörterbaum“, but the sayings have to be found. Each person, who encounters the sculpture „Sprichwörterbaum“, can think of a word/words/connected words/sentence that comes to her mind in connection with the sculpture or a special part of the sculpture. The recipient can then write the word/words/connected words/sentence down in a list. After a sufficient collection of words in connection with the sculpture „Sprichwörterbaum“ has been made, this words will be further processed by me.
Special technique: Textile is sewed to wood! And cushioned.
